Worship Him

I had this idea to do my own rendition of "Come all ye faithful" a couple of weeks ago. I decided later that I didn't want to follow the original at all, but I just wasted a way to "loosely" identify my rendition with the original song that inspired the whole idea.

The original song calls for the worship if Christ The Lord. The historical accounts of Jesus' birth point out that worshiping God was the response of Mary, Zachariah, the Shepherds, the Magi (Wise Men) and many others. With that in mind, I composed this song and named it "Come Let Us Worship Him" with my focus really being that final tag of the original song - "O Come Let Us Adore Him / Christ The Lord."

Here's the first version of my composition - "Come Let Us Worship Him."

Worship Him - Make Music in Reason - Oxygen25 Akai MPD32 Reason 4

Here's my interpretation of a well-known Christmas song that I made a few years ago. This is one of my original Moody instruMental Music creations done using Propellerhead's Reason 4.01 music software, the Akai MPD32 and the M-Audio Oxygen25 USB keyboard controller.

Grace and Peace!

This Cross

New music sample from the Heartwashed CD collection

This Cross is a piece that focuses on the intensity of emotions involved when following Christ in a faith walk.

More space is used in the piano solos, which are intentionally anti-climactic.

The high violin part provides an antagonistic feel while the contrasting, low cellos give the foreboding element.

I would really love to have Nuttin But Stringz and Miri Ben-Ari do this song. It would be so awesome to have true violinists do this song! Maybe one day.

image for By My Hand

By My Hand

By My Hand is a reflective, sad, introspective and somewhat dramatic music piece I made that can be used as a film music for those ominous and eerie scenes. I feature the piano in this one with a repeating theme of sad introspection because I wanted to express the questioning sorrow I feel at times when death takes someone close. I repeat the theme over a slow and steady backdrop of minimal drums and a changing, looping synth and guitar. The ominous orchestra section darkens the mood of the track, but trumpets later turn the questioning feel into an exclamation.

Instruments: piano (featured), upright bass, drums, strings section, orchestra, trumpets section, horns, cellos

About my notes: It's always funny writing out notes to myself about this Moody instruMental Music that I make. It's even funnier when I read what I write years later. These notes aren't meant to make a whole lot of sense. I'm just trying to capture something about the music at the time that I create it.

Original Composition: This is one of my original compositions. I am playing (or programming) all of the instruments you hear. I used Propellerhead Reason, my computer, and my Yamaha DJX keyboard to produce this track.

Genre: Piano Music, DownTempo, Avant-garde

Mood(s): Somber, Dramatic, sad

Tempo: Slow, Very Slow

I made this one with my mind focused on grieving. I dedicate this one in loving memory of my uncle, Joseph Lockett.
