I like what your doing with Reason along with the MPD32.
I've been working with Pro Tools for a while and I recently got interested in making beats and purchased Reason which is very user friendly.
I'm kind of having trouble with sampling and I was wondering how you set the MPD32 pads to trigger and work for Reason NN-XT, if you could please get back to me as soon as possible I would greatly appreciate it.
What I do is make my sample slices and then import the slices into the lower half of the NN-XT. I find all of the slices and select and import them all at once. Then, in NN-XT, I right click (PC) and select the "Automap Zones Chromatically" option. Then, I set Polyphony to 1 and Amp Release to the maximum (all the way up).
The two devices I use for sampled beats are DrREX and NN-XT. You could also use the NN-19, but the NN-XT is like the NN-19 upgrade.
I use the DrREX when I want to match the sample tempo to my track's tempo (beat matching). This comes in real handy when I just want to loop a sample or match the BPM. I use the NN-XT for more creative stuff because it gives me more control of the sample.
You can import a sample as a loop or as "chops/slices" in both devices. In my videos, you can see that I use the MPD32 a lot and I'm triggering the samples in the NN-XT.
Hope that helps get you started. Let me know if you have other questions.
Grace and Peace!
