The Right Way To Mix Music
I still don't think there is a single, "right" way to mix music. This is art. There are creative ways to do everything.
Of course, I mean no disrespect to the people who do this (mixing and mastering music - sound engineers) for a living.
There are some guidelines I follow.
Also, since I have been using Propellerhead Reason since 1999, there are a lot of songs I am revisiting just to update the tracking with the mixer (that was not in Reason 1.0).
All of this is time-consuming, but I am learning a great deal. Yes, I would rather pass this off to someone else, but I can;t afford the engineer and my raw song filesneed cleanup before I could even pass them off to anyone.
So, yeah, this is what I will be doing everyday.
