Question from subscriber:

How do you use two controllers in reason(like in your beat videos)? I thought you can only select one.

How To Use Multiple Controllers At The Same Time With Propellerhead Reason

Response:

Yes, it is possible to use multiple midi controllers to play multiple instruments in Reason. However, only one of them gets to be the master keyboard at a time.

This only matters when you need to record a performance. Reason will only record midi from the master keyboard. Also, the master keyboard can be assigned to different instruments easily by just clicking on the device's track in the sequencer.

The other keyboards are assigned to specific instruments through the midi devices section of Reason's hardware interface device at the top of the rack.

Want to use multiple hardware control surfaces at the same time in Propellerhead Reason?

In this video, I'm using multiple USB/MIDI hardware controllers (Akai MPD32 and M-Audio Oxygen25) at the same time. I show how you can setup and use each control surface to trigger a specific device within Propellerhead Reason.

I sent you a message a while back but never got a response. You are probably the main reason I gave up my Mpc 2500 and went with Reason and the Mpd 32....I'm still making music with the combo....thanks Taurus. :-)
