The Story Behind "Mountains"
I decided to make it a complete "piano music" song - but the raw beat is still available (without the piano and orchestration) and it sounds very different from this final version. it's amazing what a single chord can do to change an entire song! I keep having to remind people that I AM NOT A PIANIST! I'm a drummer, so I do tend to play the piano like a drum at times. :-)
After I made the raw beat with just the drum track and an obscure sample, I played a piano chord one day (2 months later) and the piano part was born! The bass and strings just evolved from that. This is the final version of the track i call, 'Mountains'. It's a reflective piece for me. "These mountains that I climb/ With valleys down below/..."
This is Orchestrated Hip-Hop at it's best!!

A new beat I'm working on for my Double K Beats collection. I'm working the final arrangement and tweaking some of the sounds.
Emcees, shoot me an email if you want to 'spit hot fire' on this one.
