This is one of my experimental piano/orchestrated tracks with more of a soulful sorrow that moves to a bit of brightness toward the end.
As much as they hurt, the thorns in my life remind me that I am still feeling.

Sometimes, I like to take songs from my favorite artists and make something different with my sound. "Englishman" is a great example.
I spent a couple of hours trying to re-create the original "Englishman in New York" by Sting. I was satisfied with everything except that saxophone! (Sax is always a hard one to deal with in the digital realm.) After I got a decent re-creation, I slowed the track down from 104 bpm to 96 bpm and created the beat.
When I "re-create" parts of existing songs, I actually go through and manually re-create each part that I can hear, as close to the original as I can. It takes awhile, especially since my "musicianship" is not the best and I only know how to re-create "by ear" (what I hear). In all, it is a great exercise in listening and focusing on specific instruments, sounds and parts within a song when so much is going on within it.
This is another one of my "for fun" tracks. I can only hope that Sting wouldn't be angry if he heard it. :->
Make Beats with Reason 6: Country Music Guitar Sample Flip - Really???
I get inspiration for my Moody instruMental Music from many places. Sometimes, the most basic thing triggers the creativity in me. This video series shows another example of my flipping a sample - this time, a country music guitar..
I was listening to some music today while developing a website and I heard a country-music-style guitar. inspired, I immediately powered up Reason 6 and started creating this Moody instruMental Music creation.

My idea of sampling involves wrapping the re-arranged pieces of sampled music in heavy instrumentation and orchestration. Check out this video I made showing how I use sampled music to create epic moody instrumental music.
How to Make Beats: Wrapping the Samples in Sample Flip Beats
Watch how I make sample flip beats and instrumental music using Propellerhead's Reason software, the Akai MPD32 and the Yamaha DJX MIDI keyboard. This video takes you into my thought process about sampling, chopping and flipping sample, and I give you tips on how to make music.
