So, How Do You Add Samples To the Akai MPD?
Answer:
You don't.
The Akai MPD Is Not A Sampler
The MPD 32 is a USB/MIDI Pad Controller. It is NOT A SAMPLER. You cannot add/store samples inside it like you can with the Akai MPC.
Controllers are really just buttons and knobs that allow music creators to CONTROL software or other hardware. For example, I use the Akai MPD 32 to control the sounds and devices in Propellerhead Reason music-making software.
The sounds are actually stored in my computer. The Reason software "manages" these sounds with a specific look and feel (aesthetic) that helps me make music fast. I could use my mouse and keyboard to control how Reason "manages" the sounds in my computer. Instead, I like to use the Akai MPD pad controller because it allows me to "get into" the music making process more by using my hands to "bang out" a beat pattern or other music part.
Great Question - A Lot Of Confusion
Thanks for asking this question, because there appears to be A LOT of confusion about the MPD32. I did a video to explain this answer in more detail. Be sure to check it out.
