Learn How To Make Beats With Propellerhead Reason Tutorial Videos by TaurusBeats
Learning how to Chop Samples with ReCycle and Make Beats Using Reason can be difficult if you are just starting out as a music producer. Hip-Hop music producers and beat makers have different ways of chopping samples and manipulating sample slices in order to get the right fit and feel for the music style they want to create when they make beats. Using Propellerhead Recycle, Reason music making software and my Akai MPD32, I chop samples and make sample flip beats and Moody instruMental Music, and I have learned how to chop samples with ReCycle while making beats in Reason.
Here is a message from one of my subscribers asking for pointers on the subject of chopping samples in Recycle and using Reason to make beats:
I'm a big fan of your beats man and I've been watching all your videos here on youtube and I use them as motivation. I've just started making beats and I use pretty much the same gear and software you do. I have a question for you though and I hope you can help. When I chop samples with recycle I always get this noise at the end of every chop almost like an echo noise so I was just wondering if you know a way to remove that noise because I noticed your samples don't have that noise?!? Also for the bass which one of the Reason applications do you use? I hope u can help! Thanks in Advance.
A Subscriber Question about Mastering in Reason:
Hey man, i really like your beats and especially your sound. And i was wondering if you master your beats in reason or with another program because they always sound really good to me. And when i want to get a certain sound in reason my stuff seems to overdrive most of the time.

Question from a subscriber:
I need help on understanding eq. Im lost on it.
This is a FREE maintenance update for Reason 4 owners. From now on, Propellerhead Reason 4 will ship with Reason 4.0.1 update. This maintenance update not only resolves some minor issues, it is IMPORTANT to users of the Akai MPD32 because it has the MPD32 listed as a recognized controller! Again, this is very important for those of us who have the MPD32 because we can just plug the controller into the computer and Reason recognizes it without having to jump through a bunch of hoops.
Here are some release notes regarding this update:
A subscriber wants to know How To Chop Samples In Reason.
Question From a Subscriber:
First and foremost I'd like to say you get busy for real! I watched a number of ya vids and all ya beats are tight. I just started producing a few months ago using reason 4.
My question is other than recycle is there a way to chop a sample for reason? Whats the advantage of using say a mpd to play sample chops over using a keyboard? Good lookin on any help you can give me.
Question from a Subscriber:
How do you actually grab the sample to record and chop?
Question from a subscriber:
Here is a nice and simple tutorial I found on how to slice WAV / AIF samples in Propellerheads Reason NN-XT advanced sampler, when you don't have Recycle. Requires Reason 2.0 and higher.
Again, this is a good tutorial on how to "chop samples" inside Reason's NN-XT - no external editor is used in this example. All "chops" are done on Reason!
This may be a little advanced for complete newbies, but follow along and you will be ahead of the game in using the feature-rich Reason NN-XT advanced sampler.
